Stylish Yet Comfortable

Yes, such clothes DO exist!!!

Current men's fashions cater to men who desire style AND comfort. Of course, the current fashions don't really include your traditional favorite-old-pair-of-sweat-pants-comfort, but almost.

Denim is becoming more acceptable in more upscale social environments as well as in some work places. The key to looking put-together (while you remain in your comfort zone) is adding a nicer collared, button-down with a stylish blazer and nicer shoes (than you'd wear to the gym) with your dark denim jeans. Obviously this look won't necessarily work in all situations. It's all about being creative with your clothes... something I'm sure you're just thrilled to do! ; ) Don't worry, that's where I can help! It's not just a girlie obsession anymore. It's a fact that your style says a lot about who you are. Are you letting your style say the right things about you?

At Home: Lounging Around
If you're at home just lounging around, what kind clothes do you normally wear? Your old sweats, jersey shorts, boxers, etc.? Sure these clothes are comfortable, but are they stylish? If you're single, would your hot neighbor think you're appealing? If your boss stopped by unannounced, what would he/she think about your lounge wear? Would he/she look at you in a different light than what he/she does in the office? If you're married, would your wife think you're sexy right now? (Keeping the flame going is important to your marriage.)

Obviously, you wouldn't live your whole life worried about who will be stopping by your place, but you should care at least a little about what others think. (We'll come back to that.) So, if you could look stylish while lounging comfortably, would you choose that look instead of your old sweats? Afterall, other people see you more than you see yourself, right?

At the Gym
This is a tricky one because of course you need to be comfortable, but do you really want to show off your collection of Cancun or beer T-shirts? Do you really need that collection of T-shirts anyway? Opt for shirts that are made for workouts, not ratty T-shirts. People still see you when you're at the gym... what kind of impression do you make?

At the Office: Working Harder or Smarter?
Other people are involved with your life, job and success, right? So shouldn't their opinions of you deserve respect and some reflection on your part? If your boss thinks you are lazy, unorganized or irresponsible, couldn't that inhibit your chances of that big promotion you want? Of course it would! That's why it is SO important to dress the way you want to be portrayed. Your style is a representation of YOU! Your boss may only think that you're lazy, unorganized or irresponsible because that's what he/she sees when he/she looks at your style. Do you dress in a suit, or at least a dress shirt and tie? Do you wear dress shoes that you shine regularly? Do you keep your shirts tucked in and make sure your shirt coordinates with your tie and your pants? Does your belt coordinate with your shoes? Your style deserves your attention because it is a tool for success! Your style can speak volumes about who you are, like whether or not you are meticulous, diligent, adventurous, organized, outgoing, etc. Take pride in yourself and in your style! You deserve it.

At a Party
This depends on the reason you're attending the party. Are you going to meet women? Are you going because your wife invited you? Could it lead to a promotion? (Are you schmoozing?) These reasons are important to identify before you get dressed for such an occasion. What do you want people to think about you? People tend to make their first impressions of you within the first five minutes of meeting you. What do you want them to take away?
